about
California-based violinist, Sarah Biagini is a multi-faceted performer with a wide range of professional experience spanning from orchestral playing and recordings to performing alongside rock bands. Sarah is Assistant Principal Second of Santa Cruz Symphony and also regularly performs with multiple orchestras in the bay area including California Symphony, Modesto Symphony, Symphony San Jose, and she served as concertmaster for Pocket Opera’s various opera performances.
Sarah was born and raised in Los Angeles and has been surrounded by musicians her whole life. She has played music all over the world from Cleveland, Ohio to Havana, Cuba. Sarah has participated in multiple professional recording sessions for Telemundo News Channel, the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, and most recently for the singer-songwriter, Tessa Violet’s 2023 album MY GOD!. Sarah has played music for musicals, operas, jazz groups and even played violin as supporting instrumental characters in music videos such as Paris Jackson’s “let down” and in TV shows like “Glee”. In 2022, Sarah was honored to be a featured musician in Netflix’s “The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience” in San Francisco, performing over 10 shows weekly, allowing guests to experience the magic of attending a high regency ball.
Summer studies have included multiple years at the Aspen Music Festival and School, Roundtop Institute Festival, Cambridge International String Academy, Madeline Island Chamber Music, and National Repertory Orchestra where Sarah performed “Summer” from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons as soloist under the baton of the acclaimed Michael Stern.
Sarah is an alumni of the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she received her Master of Music in violin performance as well as her Bachelor of Music in violin performance with a minor in marketing, both studying under the renowned performer and teacher, Joan Kwuon. She has studied chamber music with many incredible musicians, notably the Cavani Quartet, Peter Salaff, Franklin Cohen, the Dover Quartet and the Juilliard Quartet, as well as participated in masterclasses given by internationally acclaimed performers Augustin Hadelich, Laurie Smukler, and Margaret Batjer. While living in Cleveland, she played with orchestras such as the Erie Philharmonic, Canton Symphony, served as the Associate Concertmaster of the Cleveland Opera Theatre, and served as Concertmaster of the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra under the baton of Andrew Grams and Michael Tilson Thomas. Sarah also served as Principal Second Violin during the inaugural Cuban American Youth Orchestra tour to Havana, Cuba, participating in an intercultural and musical exchange with fellow musicians from around the United States and Cuba.
In the fall of 2021, Sarah moved to San Francisco to participate in the San Francisco Academy Orchestra where she received her Artist Diploma and served as Associate Concertmaster. In addition to performing and teaching, Sarah loves exploring the beautiful Bay Area, hiking, gardening and finding new places to eat.

Learning music is like learning a new language. It requires a lot of patience, curiosity, and hard work, but is incredibly rewarding in the end. I approach my teaching with the goal of nurturing well-rounded individuals and catering each lesson to each students’ unique teaching needs. No student is the same and so no lesson will be the same. However all students are given the same level of attention, consideration, and passion in order to succeed. Private lessons are open to all ages and experience levels!
